Hi-Flow resonator replacing OEM speed3 res.

Hey, I currently have the mazdaspeed3 exhaust on my Mazda3 sedan, I have a magnaflow muffler replacing one of the resonators (i forgot which one) and a high flow cat.

I'm wondering if i can replace the other stock resonator with a high flow resonator from vibrant or magnaflow. to increase air flow and decrease sound (if that is possible)

I'm looking at every possible cheap way to decrease the sound from 1-4k RPM. Since I'm pretty sure the headers will make the car louder than it is now (it's pretty loud now.. can be heard down 2-3 blocks)

So the question is.. Would an aftermarket high flow resonator replacing the OEM speed3 resonator, make the exhaust a bit quieter without reducing the performance?

Or does it make it louder? Since it's actually better flowing.. I'm confused and i don't really know what I'm talking about. lol.. Thanks.

to reduce the noise it means to restrict the air flow but not a huge amount, before I got my magnaflow muffler in I only had one resonator (replaced the 2nd with straight pipe) and it felt a different. Honestly with the magnaflow replacing the 2nd resonator it made a huge difference and I don't think it's loud at all.

Well, it is okay the way it sounds right now. Except I'm getting my Vibrant headers, and the noise is going to increase for sure. Just want to see if a resonator decrease at least a mere 5% of the noise or even 10% is good.

if your adding headers...i would definitely add a resonator...headers like to be way to obnoxious...and after hearing some of the focus' around here that have header with no cats and a muffler...it ruins my ears when they accelerate...

Well, I'm thinking about replacing one of the OEM resonators from the speed3 exhaust, I don't know if there is space to add another resonator
